April knows District 3 like the back of her hand.
Spanning 7,400 square miles, District 3 is Pima County’s largest District, and arguably its most diverse. In addition to containing parts of central Tucson and Marana, District 3 contains most of the Tohono O’odham Nation, the tribal nation with the second-largest land base in the United States. It contains numberous rural towns including Ajo, Three Points, and Arivaca, along with federally protected lands like Cabeza Prieta and Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuges and Ironwood Forest and Organ Pipe Cactus National Monuments. District 3 also spans 130 miles of the US-Mexico border.
The issues that District 3 residents face are, like the District itself, varied and unique. District 3 residents deserve to have a County Supervisor who intimately understands these concerns. April understands District 3’s needs better than any other candidate because she was born and raised in District 3. Her work as a community organizer, founder of the non-profit civic engagement organization Indivisible Tohono, and tireless advocate for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls has taken her to almost every corner of the District. Her perspective and approach to problem-solving is shaped by her lifetime of experience living, working, and building community in Sells, the center of District 3.
